1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Android and iOS (iPhone) application 자동차검사알리미 ("Car Inspection Reminder", the "App"), published by Studio SOIO ("we", "us"), handles information. Signing in is optional. If you do not sign in, the vehicle information you enter stays only on your device and is not sent to any server operated by us. If you choose to sign in — with a Google account, a Kakao account (where the App offers it) or an email address and password — your vehicle list is backed up to your account so it can be restored on another device (available from App version 1.1.0). The App is free of charge and is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob (see Section 4).

2. Information the App processes and why

Vehicle information you enter (plate number or nickname, vehicle body type, paint color, first registration date or inspection expiry date) — used only to calculate your inspection window, late fees and reminder dates. Stored in the local storage of your device; if you are signed in, a copy is also stored with your account (see the next item).
Account information (only if you sign in) — with Google sign-in: your Google account email address, name and a unique user ID; with Kakao sign-in: your Kakao member ID and nickname, and your Kakao account email address only if you agree to that optional item on Kakao's consent screen; with email sign-up: the email address and the name or nickname you enter (optional) and a unique user ID. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and stored only in hashed form; we cannot see it. Used only to identify your account and to back up and restore your vehicle list. Your vehicle list is stored together with your user ID.
Location (optional) — only when you tap the "My location" button in the Inspection Station Map, your current position is used on-device to sort nearby stations. Location is never stored or transmitted by us. The map and search work without this permission.
Notifications (optional) — used to schedule local reminders for the start of the inspection window, upcoming expiry and the end of the grace period. Reminders are scheduled on the device; no push server is involved.

3. Third-party services

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) — used only when you sign in, to manage your account and to store your vehicle-list backup. Firebase is provided by Google LLC; Cloud Firestore data is stored in Google Cloud's Seoul region (asia-northeast3), and Firebase Authentication data may be processed on Google servers outside Korea, including in the United States. See the Firebase privacy information.
Google Sign-In / Kakao Login — when you choose to sign in with them, authentication is performed by Google LLC or Kakao Corp. under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your Google or Kakao password. For Kakao sign-in, a small server function operated by us checks the Kakao access token with Kakao and issues a Firebase sign-in token; the access token is not stored.
Password-reset emails — if you use email sign-up and request a password reset, Firebase Authentication sends the email to the address you entered.
Korea Transportation Safety Authority — cyberts.kr: the "Lookup" tab embeds the Authority's official inspection-lookup web page. The plate number, first six digits of the date of birth and captcha that you type there are sent only to the Authority's server; we never receive or store them. Their processing is governed by the Authority's own privacy policy.
OpenStreetMap map tiles and Nominatim place search: map images and place-search results are downloaded from OpenStreetMap servers. Your IP address and the place name you type are transmitted to those servers, as with any ordinary web request.
Phone and navigation apps: the "Call", "Naver Map" and "Directions" buttons open the corresponding app only when you tap them.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows banner ads, app-open ads and occasional interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. To serve, measure and secure these ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device information and app-usage data. Details are described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). On iPhone, the App asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before the advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used; if you choose "Ask App Not to Track", only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent dialog when the App starts. We do not use any analytics or tracking SDK other than the AdMob SDK. Firebase is used only for sign-in and backup, not for analytics.

5. Data retention and deletion

If you do not sign in, all vehicle data lives only on your device; deleting a vehicle inside the App, or uninstalling the App, removes it immediately.
If you sign in, your account information and vehicle-list backup are kept until you delete your account. To delete your account, open the App → tap the account icon at the top of the “내 차” (My cars) screen → 설정 (Settings) → 계정 삭제 (Delete account). Your account and its vehicle-list backup are deleted from our database immediately; the list stored on your phone stays until you delete it or uninstall the App. Signing out does not delete your account. You can also request deletion by email (see Section 9) — details: account deletion page.

6. Security

All network communication of the App uses HTTPS. Data stored on the device is protected by the operating system's app sandbox. Vehicle-list backups are protected by access rules so that only the signed-in owner can read or write them.

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the updated version and its effective date are published on this page.

3. 외부 서비스

Google Firebase(Authentication, Cloud Firestore) — 로그인한 경우에만 계정 관리와 차량 목록 백업에 사용합니다. 제공자는 Google LLC 이며, Cloud Firestore 데이터는 Google Cloud 서울 리전(asia-northeast3)에 저장되고, 로그인 정보(Firebase Authentication)는 미국 등 국외의 Google 서버에서 처리될 수 있습니다(이전 항목: 이메일·이름·사용자 ID, 이전 시점: 로그인할 때, 보유 기간: 계정 삭제 시까지). 자세한 내용은 Firebase 개인정보 안내를 따릅니다.
Google 로그인·카카오 로그인 — 이용자가 이 방법을 선택하면 인증은 Google LLC 또는 ㈜카카오가 각자의 개인정보처리방침에 따라 처리합니다. 운영자는 Google·카카오 비밀번호를 받지 않습니다. 카카오 로그인 때는 운영자의 서버 함수가 카카오 액세스 토큰을 카카오에 확인한 뒤 Firebase 로그인 토큰을 발급하며, 액세스 토큰은 저장하지 않습니다.

4. 광고(Google AdMob)

앱은 무료로 제공되며 화면 하단 배너, 앱을 열 때·특정 동작 뒤의 전면 광고를 Google AdMob 을 통해 표시합니다. 이 과정에서 Google 은 광고 게재·측정·사기 방지를 위해 기기의 광고 ID, IP 주소, 기기 정보, 앱 사용 정보를 수집할 수 있습니다. 상세 내용은 Google 의 파트너 사이트 데이터 사용 안내와 Google 개인정보처리방침을 따르며, 휴대폰 설정(안드로이드: 설정 → Google → 광고)에서 광고 ID 재설정·맞춤 광고 제한을 할 수 있습니다. 아이폰에서는 광고 식별자(IDFA)를 쓰기 전에 Apple 의 「앱 추적 투명성」 창으로 허용 여부를 묻고, "앱에 추적 금지 요청"을 고르면 맞춤형이 아닌 광고만 표시됩니다(설정 → 개인정보 보호 및 보안 → 추적에서 언제든 변경). 유럽 지역 이용자에게는 앱 실행 시 동의 창이 표시됩니다.

5. 보관과 삭제

로그인하지 않으면 모든 차량 데이터는 이용자 기기에만 있으며, 앱 안에서 차량을 삭제하거나 앱을 삭제하면 즉시 사라집니다.
로그인한 경우 계정 정보와 계정에 보관된 차량 목록은 계정을 삭제할 때까지 보관합니다. 계정 삭제 방법: 앱 실행 → 「내 차」 화면 위쪽 계정 아이콘 → 설정 → 계정 삭제. 계정과 계정에 보관된 차량 목록이 즉시 삭제되며, 휴대폰에 저장된 목록은 이용자가 지우거나 앱을 삭제할 때까지 남습니다. 로그아웃만으로는 계정이 삭제되지 않습니다. 앱을 쓸 수 없는 경우 아래 9항 이메일로 삭제를 요청할 수 있습니다(계정 삭제 안내).

6. 안전성 조치

앱의 모든 통신은 HTTPS 로 암호화되며, 기기에 저장된 데이터는 운영체제의 앱 격리 영역으로 보호됩니다. 계정에 보관된 차량 목록은 접근 규칙으로 로그인한 본인만 읽고 쓸 수 있습니다.

7. 아동의 개인정보

본 앱은 만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 의도적으로 수집하지 않습니다.

8. 안내 내용의 성격

앱이 계산해 보여주는 검사 기간·과태료는 자동차관리법 시행규칙과 한국교통안전공단 안내를 바탕으로 한 참고 정보입니다. 정확한 검사유효기간은 자동차등록증과 공단 조회 결과가 기준입니다.

9. 방침의 변경과 문의

방침이 바뀌면 이 페이지에 시행일과 함께 갱신합니다.
